Monarú Earraí, 2011.

Installation for TULCA, Galway, Ireland.

Monarú Earraí was made in tandem with a residency in Áras Éanna on Inis Óirr- one of The Aran Islands, small Irish speaking islands in the wild Atlantic Ocean, off the west coast of Ireland. As part of TULCA 2011, The Good Hatchery (Carl Giffney and Ruth E Lyons) made work from an islanded position.

Carl Giffney made 24 bottles of sherry (the favoured drink of the Spanish Armada that sank nearby) that were transported by van, boat and hand to Inis Óirr along with 3 bags of cement and some drinking water.

The cargo was exhibited in Galway City.
